All men are born equally free according to Salmon Chase.
The question is why there is discrimination?
I live in an Asian country where
discrimination is seen, you may see & feel it in a work place or school or even
in the family. Being a woman of so-called new generation many of us believe
that all things are equal for everyone. Love is for everyone – no rich and
famous. Friendship is open to all – no matter how you look. How about the term
EQUAL? This word is somewhat very easy to define but very hard to apply. Even though,
we try to be the best that we can, equal treatment is inevitable especially in
a work place. Yes, we know that there is a hierarchy that shows the
chronological order of positions. But of course, it’s just a position, it doesn’t
mean that the way you treat you subordinates will also be the same as their
position level. I wonder if they still remember the code of ethics taught in
school and of course, we have company orientation where we were informed of the
Rules & Regulations of the company about interpersonal relationship with
your co-workers right? I don’t know if it make sense to you, but in a company
or workplace everyone depends on one another. There is a work flow procedures
where your tasks depend on the other or the other way around. Actually it’s
nice to be in an environment where everyone shows camaraderie and respect to
one another. It serves also as a motivation to work harder that would result to
be an efficient and effective employee. But it’s not happening to all, some
still practicing this domineering attitude or “bossiness” though he’s a boss
but you can identify thru his instructions that says “you are just a subordinate and you are not allowed to complain to
anything. “. It’s like a King to slave
treatment as shown in movies - very cruel, as if a slave doesn’t have the right
to anything and only the King has all rights. This is life; we are destined to
live by it and cherished it according to God’s providence. Though, it’s quite
not so easy to others to be a slave, just be tough because Life is not about
how fast you run or how high you climb but how well you bounce.
